The OBI Education Overview: Comprehensive Bioesthetic Dentistry Training for Clinical Excellence

At OBI Foundation for Bioesthetic Dentistry®, we don’t just offer dental continuing education. We provide a comprehensive, biologically grounded pathway for clinicians who want clarity in diagnosis, confidence in treatment planning, and predictable results in everyday practice.

Whether you are exploring Bioesthetic Dentistry for the first time or seeking advanced full-mouth rehabilitation training, OBI delivers a structured educational experience designed to transform the way you practice.

A Structured Path in Bioesthetic Dentistry Education

OBI’s Core Curriculum is a progressive educational journey built around the biologic principles of the human chewing system. Each level builds on the previous one, reinforcing occlusion-based diagnosis and comprehensive treatment planning.

100 Course Dental Bioesthetics: Comprehensive Dental Diagnosis in the 21st Century

The journey begins with an introduction to the three foundational principles of Bioesthetics, the Optimal Biologic Model, and the Human Chewing System. This course provides a clear framework for understanding occlusion, minimally invasive dentistry, and complete care treatment planning.

Clinicians gain insight into how proper diagnosis creates predictable restorative outcomes.

200 Series Dental Bioesthetics: Diagnosis and Stabilization for Condylar Health

The 200 Series deepens understanding of occlusion-based dentistry by guiding participants through orthotic therapy using a Bioesthetic MAGO to stabilize the condyles. Doctors learn to evaluate temporomandibular joint health, airway considerations, and the biologic diagnostic process.

This hands-on dental education experience establishes a stable foundation for comprehensive care.

300 Series Dental Bioesthetics: Minimally Invasive Treatment of Unstable Occlusions

Building on stabilization principles, the 300 Series focuses on conservative treatment options for unstable occlusions. Participants complete a minimally invasive case from their own practice while refining photography, presentation, and treatment planning skills.

This phase integrates clinical excellence with real-world application—bridging education and practice.

400 Series Dental Bioesthetics: Diagnosis and Treatment of Severely Damaged Orognathic Systems

The 400 Series represents advanced mastery in full-mouth rehabilitation and interdisciplinary case management. Clinicians complete a comprehensive full-mouth rejuvenation case from their own practice, applying biologic wax-up principles and minimally invasive techniques.

Upon graduation, participants receive the OBI Foundation Bioesthetic Pin—symbolizing advanced competency in Bioesthetic Dentistry.

1000 Series Dental Bioesthetics: International Fellowship Program (Vietnam)

For those seeking further refinement, the 1000 Series expands diagnostic mastery and comprehensive restorative planning within an international fellowship framework.

Across all levels of the Core Curriculum, every graduate completes and presents two patient cases from their own practice. This requirement distinguishes OBI from traditional continuing education programs and ensures real clinical transformation—not just theoretical understanding.

Advanced Lab Curriculum for Functional Mastery

OBI’s Lab Curriculum strengthens the collaboration between dentist and laboratory technician by teaching the biologic model and functional morphology of the stomatognathic system.

600 Series Dental Bioesthetics: Fundamentals of Function and Morphology

Participants study genetic tooth morphology, anterior guidance, occlusal contacts, vertical dimension, and sequential wax-ups. Through hands-on laboratory reconstruction, clinicians and technicians learn to restore natural dental relationships using biologic principles.

700 Series Dental Bioesthetics: Comprehensive Functional Morphing

The 700 Series builds on foundational training, focusing on complex case planning and advanced functional reconstruction. The combination of lecture and laboratory participation ensures precision and interdisciplinary consistency.

This dual-track approach—Core Curriculum and Lab Curriculum—creates alignment between diagnosis, treatment planning, and technical execution.

Ongoing Growth Through Academy Membership and Annual Conference

Education at OBI Foundation for Bioesthetic Dentistry® extends beyond coursework.

Graduates of the 300 Series become eligible for OBI Academy Membership, which includes:

  • Member directory listing
  • Exclusive webinars
  • Annual conference discounts
  • Study club opportunities
  • Course auditing privileges
  • Use of OBI and Academy logos
  • Ongoing mentorship and professional networking

The Annual Conference brings together faculty, students, alumni, and leaders in biologic dentistry for advanced lectures, case presentations, and hands-on workshops. It serves as both an educational event and a professional community gathering rooted in shared purpose.

ADA CERP Recognized Provider

OBI FOUNDATION for Bioesthetic Dentistry® is an ADA CERP Recognized Provider. Each course is individually designated for continuing education hours, supporting clinicians in maintaining licensure while pursuing advanced biologic training.

More importantly, OBI education equips dentists with the tools to diagnose the chewing system accurately, stabilize occlusion predictably, and deliver long-lasting restorative outcomes grounded in biologic truth.

If you are ready to move beyond fragmented continuing education and into a complete occlusion-based system of care, OBI provides the structure, mentorship, and clarity to help you achieve clinical mastery.

About OBI’s Curriculum

The Core Curriculum of Dental Bioesthetics is a comprehensive, multi-level educational pathway designed to guide dentists and laboratory technicians from foundational diagnosis to advanced full-mouth rejuvenation.

The journey begins with the 100 Course, introducing the three foundational principles of Bioesthetics and the biologic model of the human chewing system. From there, students progress through the 200 Series (Diagnosis and Stabilization for Condylar Health), the 300 Series (Minimally Invasive Treatment of Unstable Occlusions), and the 400 Series (Diagnosis and Treatment of Severely Damaged Orognathic Systems). The 1000 Series International Fellowship Program further expands the learning experience.

Every graduate completes and presents two patient cases from their own practice, a requirement that sets OBI apart from every other continuing education program in dentistry.

Complementing the Core Curriculum is OBI’s Lab Curriculum (Series 600 and 700), which focuses on the biologic model and functional morphology of the stomatognathic system. Through wax-ups, morphology training, and comprehensive functional morphing, dentists and technicians learn to restore natural relationships with precision and predictability.

Together, these programs form a complete educational pathway rooted in biologic truth, hands-on mentorship, and clinical excellence.
