James Sandlin, DDS

Faculty

Dr Sandlin was born in Atlanta, GA and grew up in the nearby town of Forest Park. He attended the University of Georgia and graduated in 1978 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Biology. Following his undergraduate studies, Dr Sandlin attended the Emory University School of Dentistry, graduating in 1983. Following his training, Dr Sandlin practiced restorative dentistry for forty years in the Atlanta area.

He has served as Adjunct Faculty for the Emory University School of Dentistry and with the Medical College of Georgia Dental School. He has been Clinical Advisor to the Gwinnett Technical School, and Dental Team Leader with Resource Exchange International - Vietnam. From 2011 to 2017 Dr Sandlin served with REI-VN as lecturer and clinical mentor at Hanoi Medical University Dental School, HCMC University Dental School, NHOS-Hanoi, NHOS-HCMC, ENT Hospital - Hanoi, as well as E Hospital and Gia Dinh Hospital in HCMC.

Dr Sandlin participated with the Center for Professional Development between 1992 and 2020. While there, he studied under many notable figures, such as Dr Michael Schuster, Mr Robert Fritz, and Dr James Hollis. On the advice of Dr Schuster, Dr Sandlin enrolled with the OBI Foundation for Bioesthetic Dentistry and graduated from their Level 4 training in 2011.

Dr Sandlin currently practices part-time, seeing patients in both Dacula and Savannah, GA. He limits his care to the diagnosis and treatment of TMD, Facial Pain, and Obstructive Sleep Disorders, as well as the comprehensive rehabilitation of the stomatognathic system.
