Dr. David MacLean was born and raised in Calgary, Alberta Canada. He studied biological sciences at the University of Calgary, was granted admission to the University of Alberta, Faculty of Dentistry, and completed his DDS degree in 1977. He was engaged in active clinical practice for 45 years, and he continues to mentor and teach for OBI Foundation.
Dr. David MacLean was a keen student of gnathology and restorative dentistry throughout his entire career. His other professional interests have been in biologic dentistry, and in practice management. He believes strongly that all people have the right to make informed decisions about their own health, and he has used extensive educational protocols in his practice for those who expressed interest in reversing degenerative processes in their chewing systems.
After completion of his Bioesthetic education, Dr. MacLean was appointed to the faculty of OBI Foundation in 2005, and in 2006 helped to establish OBI Canada. In 2013 he was elected to the position of President of OBI Foundation, and since 2016, he has also served as the Director of Education for OBI Foundation.
